Open an Online Store

If you are going to sell products on the Internet you would definetely use an online store also called a shopping cart. We will refer to it as an online store. An online store is a database that stores your product information and displays it on your website for you.

Online Store with Administrative Functions
The online store with a web-based administrative interface (purchaser can maintain their own store) is database-driven with information stored in an SQL-compatible database. Dynamic page coding is in the Cold Fusion Markup Language (cfml).

One assumption that is made is that the client is not doing real-time credit card processing but will gather the credit card and order information through an https (secure http) connection and then will process the order manually. If real-time processing is desired, additional charges will be applied.

This price includes a 4-page website with content, logos and pictures provided by the client. This does not include entering product into your site. If you would like us to enter your products into the site or add any additional items to your site such as graphics, animations, forms or other we will quote those items separately. This code (online store) will fit in either a framed or unframed site.

The user interface will be a standard online store application. Users will be able to browse by category, view all products alphabetically, and search by keyword. Clicking the "Add to Cart" icon next to the item will store the order information until the user checks out, clears the shopping cart, deletes the item from the cart, or closes the browser. Both member and non-member pricing can be displayed at the discretion of the client. Total charges will be automatically calculated in addition to shipping charges.

The administrative features include the following:

  1. Client receives an email when an order is placed. Email contains a link in order to retrieve the order.
  2. Sales figures can be dumped into an Excel spreadsheet based on products, categories and/or dates.
  3. Page views and referrer information can be viewed and dumped into an Excel spreadsheet.
  4. Product categories can be added/edited/deleted.
  5. Products can be added/edited/deleted.
  6. Each product can contain a thumbnail and a full size image that can be uploaded to the server and sized automatically.
  7. Search terms can be viewed, ranked and dumped into an Excel spreadsheet. Totals can also be deleted and started over.
  8. Client will have the ability to mark products as "specials" and to put an expiration date on the special so that it will automatically revert back to original pricing after that date.
  9. Client can update the email address for sending orders, as well as customizing the store information, including customer service phone numbers and email.
  10. Shipping charges will be stored in the database and can be updated at any time by the client.

  1. Purchase online store and CTI will host it for $49.99 a month. Hosting includes an *https (secure) connection on coeytech.com. Database maintenance will be billed at $95 an hour, and HTML maintenance will be billed at $85 an hour. Prepay one full year at $539.90 and save 10% over the normal monthly rate.
  2. Purchase online store and CTI will host it for $39.99 a month. You are responsible for your own secure connection. Database maintenance is billed at $95 an hour, and HTML maintenance is billed at $85 an hour. Prepay one full year at $431.90 and save 10% over the normal monthly rate.
